Support from the Sidelines

Yes my presence has been felt, a profile , a few comments here and there. I will be looking in from time to time just to catch up on news/events and gossip!

My role will be hands off, its your blog and so far its working well without academics giving you their ten pennyworth.

Two Shows!

Phil is officially your academic contact regarding the external show, I will be involved in the internal assessment procedures and degree show and will ensure that it is managed to the best of our abilities. You will be using the vacated space from the Undergrad shows and clearly these spaces will need a bit of a sprucing after their departure.

I echo Chiu's comments, take a good look around all the BIAD shows, textiles is great, Fine Art will inspire and if you get a chance go further afield...

So well done and please support the ring leaders.

Andrew

New Designer's Show

I just thought I'd let you know about the New Designers Show @ Business Design Centre, Islington, London N1

It's being advertised as 'the foremost event in graduate design' and seems to cover everything : animation, fashion, glass, architecture and much more. Its worth looking at the site, there's a show reel which makes it look pretty exciting.

I'm going on Sat 14th of July because there's a talk about Illustration, my ticket cost £9.50

Trying to find the link

I want to use my research into pareidolia and visions and link this into an illustrated book of my own poetry. I'm faffing around a bit to be honest and I could do with some input on how to link the two areas. Or maybe I'm over-complicating things ... I don't know. I've started to post some of my poetry which I normally keep well hidden.

I would appreciate some input on my blog if any of you have a minute to spare with everything that's going on at the moment ...

My blog can be found at http://annerleyjohnson.blogspot.com/

Cheers

LICHFIELD ARTS FESTIVAL COMING UP!

Lichfield Arts Festival will start in 5th July for 10 days. Theatre, music, art, drama, dance ... indoor and outdoor events.

Lichfield itself has the most spectacular gothic cathedral covered in statues. Lots of history. Beautiful place (I'm there every day, my son goes to the Cathedral School).

Ten minutes from my house ... less than 40 minutes by train from New Street and trains run every 15 minutes.

Lots of nice coffee shops too ...

Anyone interested in going? More info on festival at: http://www.lichfieldfestival.org/site2007/

More info on Lichfield at:

Get in touch if you want to go for a day and we'll organise it. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/95/Lichcathedral1.jpg

Who knows Tade Modern?

Shall we go there someday?!

Check out my blog to see some recent additions. I am toying with interiors. A little new to me, don't know how I feel about them. Can they fit in with my series?

Technical Support

Hi Gang,
I'm Tony Davis (for anyone who doesn't know who I am, picture in profile).
I am just (re)announcing myself as a resource for you (as a group) to use for any technical / computer issues.
Sadly there's not really a practical design bone in my body but I am extremely useful on the computer side of things so chuck any hardware / software problems / queries in my direction.
May not have the answer (that's the way with experimenting) but may have ideas on directions to go in.

Hardware: PC's, Macs, networking, upgrades and repairs
Programming: PHP, C, JavaScript, HTML
Image Editing, 3D, Video Editing.
(I avoid Flash like the plague)

Not the fastest responder so come find me in my room first 133 (goldfish bowl).

Edinburgh Plans

A group of us have decided to meet at New Street Station at 10am on Monday 11th June in order to gather and get a train to the airport on time. Trains go very frequently. Show up at that time, in the main lobby in front of the gates, if you wish to go with the group. Also, don't forget to book your ghost tour! A few of us have had thoughts that it might be a one-on-one with Phil!!

EDINBURGH GHOST WALK

Just booked ticket for this - there's a few tours on there but its the Ghosts & Ghouls tour at 8pm on 11th consession £7. They also do a Writers Tour during the day which I'm interested in going on - have a look and if anyone interested in going with me let me know ... www.mercattours.com
